Several houses in the Norfolk district were damaged overnight; suspect accused photographed
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A man has vandalized homes in a Norfolk neighborhood and everything has been caught on camera.
Neighbors tell 10 On Your Side that a man damaged property in several homes on Chesapeake Boulevard near Newell Avenue.
Cindy Cervora, said someone picked up a brick and then threw it on their front window.
“The mirror kept the landscape brick from flying into the house. It protected us.
She believes the same man rolled down two doors, poured a can of motor oil, and attempted to set a porch on fire.
“He tried to set the engine oil on fire, but the purpose of the engine oil is not to catch fire,” Laday said. “If he was able to set this on fire, that would be pretty bad.” We probably would have been injured because no one was awake at 11-12 a.m.
Navy sailors live in this house. They say they have no idea who the man is.
“It was a little weird. We’ve never really had that experience before.
All of the neighbors are hoping the footage from their home surveillance camera will help the Fire Marshal’s investigation. I hope the guy will be found. Hopefully he doesn’t do anything else at someone else’s house.
Norfolk Police said another house reported around 11 p.m. Monday that someone had thrown a lawn chair in a car windshield.
Officers say the incidents are under investigation.
